FIRST LISTEN: THE 1975 'YOU'

Jordan

One of the many benefits of missing work due to a potentially over-hyped-yet-still-alarming-east-coast-hurricane is the instant discovery of great new tunes. Here's a new release called 'You' from one of my recent favorites, The 1975. I have to say, there really isn't a track I dislike from these guys. Here's a little blurb from Matt Healy, the band's singer, about 'You:'

'The song is about the dissolution of our social group--catalyzed by the behavior of a couple of ex-girlfriends. It's about that moment when you realize, Oh, that was a bit of a waste of time--but fuck it, I'm actually just as happy as I was before so no harm done..'

There's an official release on November 19, but thanks to Nylon, you can hear it now.
