FIRST LISTEN: ASTRONAUTS, ETC. 'CHEMISTRY'

If you're looking for a little escape, an ethereal send-off into outer space, then turn on Astronauts, Etc. Quite fitting for a name, no? The man, Anthony Ferraro, dropped a new track called 'Mercury,' which dabbles in the minimalist field with whirly electronic pianos and soft guitar backings. My favorite part may be his harmonizing 'ooo's,' combined with a slow beat that will make you want to sway like it's the last song of your prom.
Dig the new one or not, I highly recommend checking out his preceding release, Supermelodic Pulp. It's very dreamy with it's tracks, and his floating falsetto blends well into the overall aerial feel. And sure, you can compare him to Vernon, though I think Bon Iver brings a different register to his work at times. Ferraro keeps his vocals in a high, swooning pitch.
