FIRST LISTEN: BLUE BOATS - SUMMER'S DOWN

Today we're giving props to a small solo act (for now) from the UK. Blue Boats is a project formed in the dorm of Oliver Gale a film student in Bournemouth. The sound is dreamy without dipping into the realm of twee. I'd compare it almost to Minus the Bear with less of a punk-pop edge and more of a West-Coast-Surf vibe. despite being relatively new, he's already got a video for his single 'Summer's Down'. Check out the video after the jump along with more insight and an additional track.

For the time being Blue Boats are getting ready for live shows and are working on some new tracks. Blue Boats has been getting a lot of play and he is set to release Summer's Down on September 24 via Brapscallions.
