FIRST LISTEN: THE MARINER'S CHILDREN - IN MY BED

Lupi

Roaring into your ears this morning is The Mariner's Children and their single, 'In My Bed' from their forthcoming Sycamore EP. Their sound is bombastic and dark, akin to Arcade Fire or Mumford and Sons, if you could imagine a world where the two exist together. (Hey, they're both Album of the Year winners) Songwriter Benedict Rubinstein explains the relationship between love and death in his writing, "It’s not a happy song - it’s about everything ending and nature and time conquering all and there being nothing you can do about it but work to accept it - but it didn’t come from a place of despair. The track is about death, but it’s definitely a love song.” The band is currently touring in the UK, but we'll let you know when you can catch them stateside. Sycamore EP will be released on March 4 via Broken Sound Music.

Be sure to check out their video for 'In My Bed' after the jump, and you can download the track from their Soundcloud.
