FIRST LISTEN: SWIM DEEP - ORANGE COUNTY

It looks like UK's Swim Deep is fully aware of the surf-rock title that's been bestowed upon them. However, Phantom Planet they are not. Their newest track, The B-Side to their single 'Honey', is called 'Orange County' and it takes a turn for the mellower. The slow, percussive drive is aided by a perfectly subtle synth and their, now staple, West-coast guitar sound. The track is a winner, it definitely makes us wonder what this band could do in the span of a full length LP.
