We wrapped up our 2012 with a band that we have high expectations for in 2013. Peace has been in our list for some time now, so when we heard that they were finally coming to New York, we had to see them live. Their singles 'Wraith', 'Bloodshake' and their first single, 'Follow Baby' all sounded flawless live. Lead singer Harrison Koisser warned, "This is sort of a long one, don't get lost in the jam." That started the high point of the night as the band played the 10-minute jam, '1998'. we got the chance to talk with them just before their set at Glasslands Gallery, in Brooklyn, about their first tour in America, debunking rumors concerning Johnny Greenwood's pants, and what the coming year holds in store for the band.
The Peel: First off, I want to ask you guys about your first trip to the US. You played your first stateside show in LA, you just finished a set at Pianos here in New York and now you’re getting ready to play a show at Glasslands here in Brooklyn. What was your impression? How does touring in the UK differ from touring here?
Harrison: It was great. We're from England so we can tour there as much as we want. In America this is our first chance to play shows, so we're trying to get a buzz going.
Doug: It's easy to do it in England; we could go and just stay at a friend’s house. We only have to drive a few hours each day. But for fucks sake, flying six hours to play a show...
